Wisconsin Badger Football opens the 2017 season hosting the Utah State Aggies under the lights at Camp Randall Stadium

Wisconsin hosts the Utah State Aggies to start the 2017 Badger college football season.  Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CST on Friday September 1st.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Badger of Honor wants to thank Jason Turner from the Logan Herald Journal News for his help in previewing the Utah State Aggies.  Turner covers Utah State for the newspaper and he graciously agreed to answer some questions via email.

The intent here of course is to give you a little more insight into what to expect from Utah State.

Badger of Honor has done a series of question-and-answer posts with other Big Ten blog experts.

We wanted to give you a sense of what to expect from some other Big Ten teams this football season.  But this is our first post venturing outside Big Ten play.  The storylines are a little less intuitive.

Utah State is coming off a disappointing 2016 season where the Aggies finished 3-9.  In fact, Utah State is just 9-16 over the last two seasons.  However, the Aggies were 30-11 from 2012 to 2014.  Utah State won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Poinsettia Bowl, and New Mexico Bowl to cap those successful seasons.
