Week Two Wisconsin Football Grades
Grading the week two game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Florida Atlantic Owls. We divide the grades among offense, defense, and special teams
The Wisconsin Badgers beat back a limited threat from the visiting Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday. Wisconsin won 31-14 in a somewhat deceptive final score line.
In fact, both teams left points out there on special teams. There was a great defense and bad offense which limited the fireworks for both teams.
The Badgers left a lot of points out there with some miscues and stalled drives.

In the end, the win is what’s counts. Wisconsin is still 2-0 and shouldn’t move much in the polls again. They Badgers as an outside candidate for the college football playoff remains at least for another week.
But this was not nearly as comfortable a win as it really could have been for Wisconsin Football.
The Badgers were wasteful on offense. A ghastly Alex Hornibrook interception gave Florida Atlantic (FAU) a short field. The Owls turned the gift into its second and final score of the game.
In addition, the Badgers were stoned in short yardage on the goal-line with a chance to truly break the game open. That was a deflating sequence and one that wounds the brawny Wisconsin image.
So scroll through the post and review our grades. As a reminder, we do this somewhat on a curve. Namely, we do factor in the quality of the opposition. This, this week we’ll raise our standards as FAU was a heavy underdog in Madison.
