Highlighting some of the key individual player to watch, key to the Wisconsin Northwestern football game on Saturday

Badger of Honor already offered its preview of Northwestern football.  So now we’ll zero in more closely on some individual players to watch for Saturday’s Big Ten opener.

The Wildcats are 2-1 on the young season but some bitter recent history means the Badgers should be fired up and ready for a hostile welcome.

More from Badger of Honor

Fortunately for the visitors, as we’ve noted in the past, these early Saturday kickoff make Camp Randall Stadium less formidable.  The late-arriving students  remove the loudest source of noise and energy.

However, unfortunately for Northwestern, the Badgers are rested coming off its bye.  The injury report showed little bad news this week for the home side.

In fact, the only significant name that remains from before the bye week is left guard Jon Dietzen.  The mammoth redshirt sophomore is listed as questionable.

Dietzen is reportedly a game time decision on Saturday.  However, the game plan doesn’t change much even if he sits.  Against BYU, Micah Kapoi filled in nicely as the Wisconsin offense soared in the thin air in Provo, Utah.

Of course there are some offensive players to watch for the Badgers as well.  So scroll through the post to see who Badger of Honor lists as the key players to watch on Saturday.
