The Wisconsin Identity

When you play against the Wisconsin Badgers, you know what you’re going to get. And the players themselves know what is expected of them. Having that kind of mindset, confidence in your teammates, knowing that you’re all going after the same goal, is the kind of thing that winners have. There aren’t selfish individuals on Wisconsin’s team. There aren’t players taking plays off. Everybody on the field knows what their job is and they are trusted to get it done. When you can operate with confidence in your teammates, you can operate at more efficient levels yourself. It’s true for every aspect of life, but it’s most important in sports.

More from Football

The Badgers are a team that opponents know is going to play hard and play smart. The Badgers don’t beat themselves and seldom make dangerous mistakes. If you want to beat the Badgers, you have to earn it. There are great teams in the country that will fold in pressure situations or don’t have players all on the same page. That’s usually when you see Oklahoma lose to Iowa State, or Ohio State lose to Iowa. Wisconsin doesn’t get upset like that, because Wisconsin has a strong and proven culture that every single member of the team buys into.

The Badgers are great because they know they’re great. And they trust everybody on the team to be great on every single down.
