Wisconsin 2019 running back commit Julius Davis has impressed early on in his senior season

Wisconsin commit Julius Davis is looking like a better addition for the Badgers each time he takes the field.

Davis rushed for 1,762 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2017 as a junior at Menomonee Falls, and through the first two games of his final high school season he has been nearly unstoppable.

Davis set the tone for what is shaping up to be a monster senior year Week 1 in a 28-19 victory against Germantown. In that matchup, he ran wild for a state-high 334 yards and three touchdowns.

95 of those rushing yards were courtesy of this incredible run in which he broke several tackles on his way to a crucial touchdown.

That play was remarkably similar to the run Davis broke off last season that ended up going viral online and caught the attention of a number of colleges.

Davis had a slightly smaller stat line on Friday in his second game of the year against West Allis Hale, rushing for 203 yards to go along with three touchdowns. However, Menomonee Falls won in a 35-0 rout and Davis did not play in the fourth quarter.

Overall, his 537 total rushing yards through the first two weeks of the season leads the state.

What’s most exciting about Davis’ performance early on this season is that he is proving himself to be a big-play threat capable of breaking off a massive run at any time. In addition his 95-yard score in his first game, he had two back-to-back touchdowns in his second were also long runs.

We have always seen the physicality Davis brings as a runner, but now he is showing everyone that he has the speed and athleticism to be a home-run hitter to go along with his ability to grind out tough yards through contact.

Davis is currently a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports. However, if he keeps playing like he has been as his senior season continues you have to imagine he will get a bump up to 4-star status.
