There are some other key games Wisconsin football fans might have an interest in this weekend.

Wisconsin football got off to a hot start last Friday night beating Western Kentucky 34-3. Thankfully, Badger fans were able to enjoy an impressive slate of college football games all day Saturday as a result. This weekend is a bit different as Wisconsin plays Saturday at noon ET, but there are still plenty of other games to watch around the Badgers.

Last weekend I was curious to see how Big Ten West foes Northwestern and Purdue looked, and I kept an eye on Washington as they could be a potential competitor for a College Football Playoff spot with the Badgers. Michigan and Ohio State aren’t division rivals, but they were also in the spotlight last weekend. Out of all of those teams, only Ohio State impressed me by blowing out Oregon State. Maybe being part of this weekly post is a curse?

This weekend’s schedule is far less exciting than last weekend’s on a national level, but there are still some matchups to watch closely. We saw the Big Ten struggle in some marquee games last weekend and I’ll have my eye on some of those programs.

We’re also getting to the point of the season where we can start looking ahead to some of Wisconsin’s future opponents. After New Mexico, Wisconsin’s next two games are against teams playing interesting games this weekend.

There are four games this weekend, all on Saturday, I want to talk about and I’ll be watching with a close eye. They are presented in chronological order.
