Wisconsin Football stays put in week two Big Ten Power Rankings
2. Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin has looked as good as any team realistically can. The Badgers have played two weak opponents and blown both out accordingly. The defense has looked strong and so has Wisconsin’s star running back, Jonathan Taylor. There isn’t much more to ask for.
Wisconsin is only second on this list because Ohio State is number one. Sorry for the spoiler, but if you’re surprised by that then you haven’t been paying attention. This isn’t anything against Wisconsin. It’s just that Ohio State has been a machine so far.
The Badgers have one more tune-up before heading to Iowa, where the Hawkeyes will host the Badgers for a night kickoff. Kinnick Stadium is known for causing problems to highly ranked teams at night. I don’t think Wisconsin will have many issues with Iowa, but we’ll cover that more next week.
Wisconsin does it job and wins with a dominating running game like an elite program should. As long as it continues to do that, it’s spot near the top of the Big Ten and the AP Poll is secure. And the Badgers will have their chance to dethrone the top spots as long as it handles business against programs like Iowa.
