Robin Pingeton had a huge day yesterday, adding former 5-star combo guard Addie Deal out of the transfer portal from Iowa. She also added a high-scoring forward from LIU, Kadidia Toure, who averaged over 19 points a game last year for the Sharks. Both additions were crucial to what Pingeton is building at Wisconsin next year. She now has four other spots to fill, and here are some targets that make sense.
Wisconsin needs a point guard, a couple of other wing/combo guards, and probably another forward to round it out. Not all of them need to be stars or even starters, but they all will have a role. Here's a name for each and only names that are actually probable.
Teagan Mallegni - Guard - Iowa
Let's start with the most likely addition of the three listed. Mallengi is a Wisconsin native and has already been rumored to be coming to the Badgers. There's clearly some smoke out there about her and Addie Deal coming together. She would be another combo guard and wing who actually saw her role reduce from year one to year two in Iowa.
She would be a great addition to Pingeton's offense/defense and would actually see valuable minutes for Wisconsin, letting her skillset shine through.
Paris Bradley - Point Guard - Louisiana Tech
Pingeton loves point guards who can run the offense but also score with the ball in their hands. Bradley averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3 assists per game last season for Louisiana Tech. She would have a bit of a transition coming from CUSA to the Big Ten, but Pingeton has succeeded in exactly this before, even just last year.
Doneelah Washington - Forward - Illinois State
Washington is a Midwest girl who grew up in Nebraska and has now spent her first two seasons at Illinois State. Now that Pingeton has landed Toure out of the portal, Washington may not be an option, still, as they are both high-scoring forwards with similar skillsets. However, Pingeton could pull it off, and Washington would immediately elevate the team.
She averaged 16.7 points and 8.6 rebounds. At 6'1, she commands respect inside the paint but also isn't scared to knock down an outside shot. She made 38 threes last season.
