Wisconsin is still flying high off the weekend with another top priority commitment from 3-star defensive back Royalton Allen from California. This is now the third commitment from the first official visit weekend. Luke Fickell has already landed 4-star WR Jai Jones, 3-star Edge Nathan Jones, and now 3-star defensive back Royalton Allen. After Allen visited Madison, he told Evan Flood of On3.com, "I've been a lot of places in the world. I don't think there's anything like [Madison]."
To top it all off, the Badgers are trending for a couple of other impact players, too, including 4-star Mekhi Williams from Florida. So, this commitment from Allen is a big deal for a multitude of reasons, and let's break them down.

First, we need to address the fact that Allen is a high-rising player from Oak Hills, California, with nearly 20 offers. He was a UCLA commit at one point, but reopened months ago to keep the options open. He had plans to visit Colorado State and BYU after Wisconsin; those are most likely forfeited after closing down his recruitment.
Allen is also a star athlete who projects the best at defensive back in college. He's a star receiver for Oak Hills and has also been featured as a running back. Wisconsin coaches Robert Steeples and Paul Haynes were both his primary contacts, which indicates the Badgers see him as a defensive back or a safety at Wisconsin.
Finally, Allen is a big addition because he's the first defensive back to commit in the 2027 recruiting class. If he stays in the cornerback spot. If he ends up as a safety in Madison, he's the second safety in the class, joining DJ Davis from Middletown, Delaware.
Allen may just be the first defensive back this week, as 4-star DB Mekhi Williams is set to commit tomorrow, choosing between LSU, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. All the momentum is currently swinging towards the Badgers, with four crystal ball projections for the Badgers and Williams.
