Wisconsin has a smaller (known) recruiting weekend this week as compared to last week. The Badgers are only bringing in six players to check out Madison: four are uncommitted recruits in which Wisconsin is a finalist, and two are flip candidates. There's Chuck Alexander, who could flip from Louisville to Wisconsin, and then there's Brody Pfannenstiel, who is committed to Texas Tech.

It's Pfannenstiel who deserves a mention in this article. He recently delivered a quote to Greg Smith of Rivals that indicates there's a really strong chance that Wisconsin can flip him. Or at least he's going to give Luke Fickell a chance to make it happen. He said, "I'm committed to Texas Tech, but hopefully after my official visit to Wisconsin, it should be final."

If you are an optimistic Texas Tech fan, you read that and think, 'Oh, cool, he's just checking Wisconsin out, and then he's 100% a Red Raider.' But the pessimistic Tech fan can clearly say, 'He's obviously saying to Fickell, give me your best shot.' Which should bring some optimism to a Badger fan. He truly is letting Wisconsin make one final pitch to him before he either moves all-in on Texas Tech or decommits and flips to the Badgers.

This is a familiar story to 4-star Mekhi Williams, who was committed to Florida State but came on a visit to Madison and was blown away. He left the visit decommitting to the Seminoles and quickly decided to set an announcement date (for later today) between LSU, Nebraska, and, of course, Wisconsin. There are currently seven 24/7 Sports Crystal Balls for him to be a Badger.

Could Pfannenstiel follow a similar playbook? There's clearly optimism from the Wisconsin football coaching staff that it's possible and that the official visit to Madison will have Pfannenstiel making a new commitment, but this time to Wisconsin.
