The day after the College Football National Championship game, one Wisconsin signee is already looking toward the Wisconsin hopes. The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to take down Notre Dame 34-23 and hoist the champion trophy with confetti flying. 4-star Wisconsin newcomer Jaylen Williams was watching and thinking about Wisconsin hoisting the same trophy "soon." He posted today on social media that the day isn't far away when Wisconsin is in the same position.

Jaylen Williams says that the Badgers National Championship is coming soon.

This seems overly hopeful for a team that failed to even live up to expectations last season and with head coach Luke Fickell on the hot seat. However, the overwhelming response to that post was Badgers fans' excitement for the future.

Some of the optimism from fans may come from the fact that it was a Big Ten foe that won the National Championship. A team the Badgers didn't play last season but through the transitive property, Wisconsin fans are quick to humorously point out how they could have. While it's tongue in cheek, UW fans have said that because Wisconsin beat Rutgers, Rutgers beat Washington, Washington beat Michigan, and Michigan beat Ohio State. That the Badgers should be the champs.

This, of course, can never be the case in real life, but seeing that equation may inspire some "It's not as far away as we thought." If the Badgers can get a good and healthy quarterback under center and a tighter game plan, next season could be a step in the right direction.

Signee Williams seems to think it could be sooner rather than later that the Badgers make the push for the championship. Williams, a star edge player, was originally committed to Michigan but flipped to Wisconsin in November. He is ready to come in next season and begin to help the Badgers towards that goal of hoisting their own championship trophy.
