College football season is finally upon us, and the game that most of the nation is tuning into is Iowa State vs. Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland. It's a nationally ranked game and the official kick off to the season in "Week 0." Now, it will feature a former Badger as the starting left guard for Iowa State, Dylan Barrett.
Barrett was with the Badgers for three seasons before transferring to Iowa State. He was initially a starter last season on the Iowa State line but went down with an injury. Today, due to a sickness with starting left guard Trevor Buhr, Barrett has been shuffled into the starting left guard role. He was supposed to be playing center, but now he's a guard as he's one of the more versatile linemen for the Cyclones.
With LG Trevor Buhr out (sickness) today for No. 22 Iowa State, they will reshuffle the offensive line. Expected starters against No. 17 Kansas State.

Barrett transferred out of Wisconsin after the 2023 season and spent last season starting at guard for the Cyclones, but then went down with an injury after eight games. This season, his role was to be a center, but now he is in the spotlight of college football, supporting a former starting center for Iowa State, Jim Bonifas.
Bonifas was the starting center for the Cyclones in 2023 but lost his spot in 2024 and spent last season as a backup. Now the redshirt senior will block alongside Barrett as Barrett works to help Iowa State get a ranked win to start the season.
The season is upon us, and Wisconsin fans are anticipating the arrival of the Badger season kickoff on Thursday. Five days left. Wisconsin vs. Miami (OH) will be a Thursday night kickoff at 8 pm CST. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
