In week 1 of college football, there wasn't a bigger win than what Florida State pulled off over Alabama. A two-win program a year ago just upset one of the favorites for the national championship. It was impressive, and now Mike Norvell and his staff are trying to use that momentum to steal away 4-star running back Amari Latimer from Wisconsin.

Florida State isn't the only program aggressively trying to get Latimer to flip. There's also Georgia and Tennessee involved heavily. The alarming part for Wisconsin is that Latimer is entertaining their advances on his recruitment. He's at least hearing them out.

Amari Latimer is off to an impressive start to his senior season in high school. There have already been videos posted of him just making high school football players look silly. He was also recently announced as part of Mr. Georgia's watchlist. This award is presented to the best high school player each season. He is one of six players named to the watchlist.

Latimer is too good a player to fly under the radar. He's already one of the best running backs in the nation, but his star power continues to grow. He now has Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State trying to get him to flip. Let's be realistic; that's a tough group to hold off recruiting.

The good news for Wisconsin is that Latimer's brother, Geimere Latimer, is a Badger. That may not be enough to keep him if there are strong enough offers elsewhere, but it certainly helps. It also helps that Wisconsin is showcasing a running attack that may be appealing to Amari.

The frustrating part is that these SEC powers and Florida State are much closer to Latimer than Wisconsin. He's a star in Georgia, and those schools can recruit that region much more consistently than a university in Madison, Wisconsin.

Time will tell if Luke Fickell can keep his prized recruit committed, but signs are alarming, and the schools coming after him are doing so aggressively.
