Almost all die-hard Wisconsin Badger fans have become well accustomed to the name Kingston Allen. The 2027 tentative Badger commit is one of the most productive running backs in recent memory among high schoolers, shattering seemingly a new record every time he steps on the gridiron.

The only issue for Wisconsin fans is that Allen has yet to sign, which under normal circumstances would be far from an issue. However, over the past handful of weeks, Allen has picked up real steam in the national recruiting sphere.

Changing of the tide?

The two most recent offers are especially damning, as he has picked up offers from the bluest of blue blood schools in Ohio State and, most recently, Alabama. Allen still remains a hard commit to Madison, even taking a visit to the school for its most recent home game against USC.

As of now, there are no signs of Allen entertaining any of these offers beyond accepting them, but the fact that he is still weighing his options is a bit disheartening for Badger fans. That said, there should be no blame put upon him for taking a look at what's out there.

Allen has only recently come into the national media sphere, as he has made himself impossible to ignore. He has racked up 2,797 yards and 54 touchdowns in just 10 games, placing him on pace to beat his 3,436-yard, 57-touchdown totals from a year ago.

Allen fits the bill of a prototypical bell-cow back, boasting a sturdy frame and high top-end speed. He's proficient inside and outside the tackles, capable of breaking a run free from virtually any given scenario. Allen has even flashed his hands on occasion, although the vast majority of his touches do come via handoff.

In other words, he's everything that every school wants, and with the Badgers still being somewhat new to doing the whole winning-games thing on the football side of things, Allen understandably will field calls from more proven programs.

On top of that, there is no doubt that either place will offer more money than the Badgers can fork up, making it impossible for the 17-year-old Allen not to feel out the world around him. That said, it's always worth a reminder that he is, after all, still committed to Wisconsin, and it's clear that coach Luke Fickell is still very active in his recruitment.

Whether or not he chooses to go elsewhere is ultimately out of the Badgers' control, but for now, fans should be grateful for even being in the conversation to grab guys like him.
