The Wisconsin Badgers are in a bad state right now. They are struggling and seem to lack both an identity and the gumption to pull off a win. There's a chance that the games against Alabama and Maryland were the low points, but it seems unlikely. Many fans are preparing for a two-win season. The course they are on is not good, and the trajectory of the season seems to be pointed down, not up.
Yet, that didn't stop the Wisconsin football social media account from posting a poorly worded social media post featuring images from practice. The post said, "Stay the course." That's it... and Badger fans were quick to remind them that maybe Wisconsin should try a different course.
It led to some hilarious interactions from fans and here are some of the best:

Actually, let’s try a new course.

This one seems to suck. https://t.co/rWudDTyriQ
No thank you. There seems to be an accident on this course and we need to reroute

Wisconsin should not be staying the course and instead should be trying to win

The overall sentiment from fans is that the last two games were losses, and thus, to stay the course means to continue losing; no thanks. How about we try a new course? However, perhaps the social media admin knows something we don't, that the Badgers are stuck on a course of losing, and it will remain this way until the head coach is fired.
This is honestly what it feels like this season is destined for: a fired Luke Fickell and a reroute to a new coach, a new culture, and hopefully an upward trajectory. Right now, things are ugly, and Fickell is looking at what he calls the "Mountain," which is the schedule, and he can't be sure there is a win left on it.
The course Wisconsin football is on is bad. It was a poorly worded social media post, or maybe a prophetic one. Either way, it provided some hilarious responses.
