The No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers vs. No. 12 High Point Panthers had all the makings of a bracket-busting game. There were pundits picking High Point to upset the Badgers, and the money line even moved to respond. So it was one of the games many were picking for that No. 5 vs. No. 12 upset. That's a classic upset game that often happens in the history of March Madness.

However, it wasn't as popular as many would have you believe, coming in second for the most "bracket-wrecking" game in the first weekend. Which means millions were picking the Badgers to win. In fact, Wisconsin's loss busted seven million perfect brackets. That's an incredible amount and came only second to TCU beating Ohio State, which broke 15.9 million perfect brackets.

Every year, millions of people participate in March Madness and fill out brackets online. It's an incredibly rare thing for someone to finish with a perfect bracket. In fact, it's never happened and most likely never will. The odds are 1 in 120.2 billion for those who follow basketball and 1 in 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 if you are choosing based on chance, 50/50, colors, animals, or whatever.

In other words, it's nearly but not quite impossible. Yet, winning the bracket challenge among your friends or co-workers is always a joy. Breaking up the bracket early, especially for a team you had going deep, is brutal. Wisconsin may have broken a ton of brackets in the round of 64, but fewer and fewer people had them going far. Many brackets had Arkansas passing out of the round of 32 and then Arizona coming out of the Sweet 16.

So, it may have ruined the perfect bracket, but Wisconsin wasn't a favorite for most. For Wisconsin fans, the bigger picture is how lame it was to watch the Badgers fall short again in the tournament, not getting out of the first weekend. Brutal and frustrating yearly tradition (at this point).
