There's an argument to be made that most of the nation hasn't really seen Wisconsin play basketball this season. The Wisconsin Badgers weren't supposed to be good and were predicted to finish 12th in the Big Ten. The networks and TV deals buried the Badgers on Peacock and Big Ten Network in time slots when other big games were going on. It seemed as if on Sunday, a collective wake-up moment was happening for basketball pundits to the prowess of Badger basketball.
Multiple bracketologists posted about the Badgers on social media as if it was the first time they really watched them play. This is only good news. Especially in a week where Wisconsin went 1-1, the wake-up call to the superb play of the Badgers has moved them up in most brackets.
Wisconsin blows out Nebraska 83-55 at the Kohl Center. John Tonje led the Badgers with 27 points in the win!

Since starting 0-2 in Big Ten play, Badgers have been playing a bit under the radar nationally, but have a great opportunity Wednesday in what *should* be a ranked… https://t.co/KGVyZerCIe pic.twitter.com/KH7hLP2c6f
Badgers roll once again, blowout Nebraska. Up to a 4 seed now. Greg Gard seems to always have this team exceeding expectations.

Wisconsin is now predicted to be a four-seed in the NCAA tournament according to many bracketologists
Three different bracketologists have all had Wisconsin hovering in the 5 and 6 seed camp, now moving them up to a four seed (or almost the four seed). This is incredible, considering they lost and won in the same week. However, the reality is because of the Sunday game on the Big Ten Network and the blowout over Nebraska, the nation is waking up to Wisconsin being a good hoops program.
If you are wondering, here is how Wisconsin ranks in the major rankings:
NET: 18
KenPom: 14
ESPN BPI: 22
T-Rank: 13
Wisconsin is now 16-4

Greg Gard and the Badgers get no national media coverage, very little national exposure, and rarely get mentioned with the best teams in the country
This team is for real. Everyone better wake up

The Wisconsin Badgers will now head on the road for two straight games, taking on Maryland, who also has moved up in many of the same metrics. They will then take on Northwestern on the road. Both games will be easily quad-1 opportunities for the Badgers. It will also be significant tests on the road where the Badgers have been hit or miss. They go into this little road trip with a 2-3 record when they are not in Kohl Center.
