Carter Gilmore sends awesome message to Wisconsin fans after breakout game

The Wisconsin Badgers Carter Gilmore experience is a fantastic case study for the resiliency of development. It's a testament to Wisconsin's head coach Greg Gard's ability to develop players. It's also a testament to Gilmore's love for Wisconsin and his resiliency to the program. There may not be a player that better understands Gard's approach to the game, and his ability to jump-start to offense in a win over Northwestern is the reason they didn't drop another road game.

He heard his name chanted during the game; he stayed after to shake hands with fans for those waiting to congratulate him. Gard shouted out his performance in the post-game press conference. Gard said, "Today will forever be enshrined as Carter Gilmore Day."

Gilmore, in his own post-game comments, sent a message to Wisconsin fans that you will want to hear. He showed humility and gratefulness for the Badgers, and it's a reminder of how important he is to this team, even when he's not exploding with huge offensive games.

"To see the amount of love that you really have, that's why I play. I am a true Wisconsin Badger. All I want to do is make all the fans happy. I was lucky to go out and be able to do that tonight."
