One of the best setters in the country and a star for the Wisconsin Badgers left the match against Michigan after Charlie Fuerbringer collided with Michigan's Serena Nyambio. She came back to the bench after a while, but with a sling and an ice pack. She assuredly won't return against Michigan, but what other updates do we have?
Wisconsin continued its streak of set sweeps in Big Ten play with a dominant performance over Michigan, even without Fuerbringer for most of it. They were able to turn to her backup, true freshman Addy Horner, who was not only capable but exceptional. She's clearly been learning from Fuerbringer, even though she's great in her own right.

The good news for the Badgers is that Charlie Fuerbringer came back to the bench and did not need to go to the hospital or return. An ice and a sling are also good signs that it's an injury that needs to be rested. That something flared up and needs to be immobilized and iced to get it back to normal again.
Now, this doesn't mean that she will be immediately back. Head coach Kelly Sheffield said that it was a bit too early to know after the game, "It's why you've got an elite medical team and all those things. So I'm sure they'll get us some answers here in probably the next couple of days, hopefully." We will need to be watching for updates later in the week. This injury will be something to monitor and, similar to Grace Egan's injury, may be a game-to-game sort of decision.
Freshman Addy Horner was great in the absence of Fuerbringer with 35 assists and two aces. She filled in and was able to help the team without the star setter. It will be interesting to see how much of a role she will have going forward as Fuerbringer is recovering.
