The Wisconsin Badgers walked it off against the Baylor Bears in an exciting nine-inning game. It was once again Hannah Conger who delivered the clutch hit to send the Badgers into the winner's game of the regional. The problem for Wisconsin is that the winner's game is against the Texas Longhorns, aka the defending national champions. Texas is one of the Goliaths of the sport, and Wisconsin will need a wing and a prayer.

The Badgers won't be daunted by the Longhorns even though they should be. Wisconsin took nine innings to take down the Baylor Bears. Texas took down Wager in five. So Shelby Jacobson almost matched a career pitch count while Citaly Gutierrez barely used any. That's not good for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin vs. Texas softball feels like a modern-day David Vs. Goliath

Add in the fact that the two have now both played Baylor. Wisconsin needed nine innings and barely beat the Bears. While Texas played Baylor twice and run-ruled the Bears in both games earlier this season, outscoring them 21-2.

The common opponent isn't putting much hope in the narrative that Wisconsin can do it. Yet, as it was with the original David and Goliath, all the pressure is on Goliath, not on David. Wisconsin has proven this season that they won't be scared of any team or any matchup. When Oregon thought Wisconsin would roll over in the Big Ten Tournament, the Badgers decided to enter into a slugfest with them.

The good news for Wisconsin is that it's a double-elimination regional. Thus, losing to Texas won't be the end of the road. They will drop into the losers' bracket and have to take on the winner of Baylor vs. Wagner. A win there and it's back to Texas. OR if somehow, someway, they can knock off the Longhorns, it will be the Badgers waiting to see the ultimate winner from the losers' bracket.

It won't be easy, it's truly a David vs. Goliath and this Goliath already ate the Bears...twice.
