Wisconsin has yet to see its starting quarterback, Billy Edwards Jr., for an entire game. He started the season against Miami (OH) but was injured with most of the game still left to play. He tried to make it back to Maryland and did get to play a little in that game, but it may have made things worse, not better.

Now, he's going into the Michigan game with a questionable tag, and backup quarterback Danny O'Neil just revealed that Edwards isn't getting many of the reps in practice this week. This seems to indicate that Wisconsin plans to run the offense through Danny O'Neil for at least another week.

It's hard to know how much better the Wisconsin Badgers would be with Billy Edwards Jr. at the helm. While O'Neil hasn't been great, most of his problems seem to stem from constantly worrying about how much protection he is getting. However, it's hard not to think the offense would flow better through the veteran leadership of Edwards.

If O'Neil does go out as the starter against Michigan, that's another week in which Edwards is sidelined, making this injury much more severe than initially reported to fans when he was first injured. He was listed as week-to-week, but besides the Maryland game, he hasn't been able to get into the game or even into practice much, if at all.

Even for the Maryland game, head coach Luke Fickell admitted that Edwards wasn't ready to go and that he should have done a better job of protecting "Billy from Billy." Meaning the quarterback really wanted to play his former team, and Fickell allowed him to push himself into the game when he really needed more time recovering.

That decision may have set his timeline back and pushed O'Neil in for another week, this time against Michigan.
