Bryan Jackson II chose to head to USC after high school. The former 3-star prospect from Texas had some high aspirations, but after two years playing under Lincoln Riley, he decided to jump into the transfer portal and look for a new opportunity. He landed at Wisconsin to bolster a running back room that could use some extra legs.
That decision led him on a crash course to play his former school (USC Trojans) in Week 8 in front of 71k Badger fans cheering him on. He had his best game of the season, was chosen as one of head coach Luke Fickell's top offensive performers, and let his feelings loose after the game.
Jackson told reporters after the game that the Badgers beat the Trojans because Wisconsin was the more physical team. "Gritty ain't pretty," Jackson said. "We played the harder football game, brought it to them, and they can't really do nothing with us. It's just two different types of football."
Yup, he really went there.

Bryan Jackson II said that USC and Wisconsin simply play two different styles of football

Jackson is being about as blunt as you can be without crossing the line. He blatantly said that one team was tough and one team was not; the tougher team won. USC has prided itself over the years on being a "tough team." They've been a top program for a long time, and many would call the program a blue-blood football school. Yet Jackson said he's been there, and he's more impressed with Wisconsin.
Now we don't want to go so far as to put words in his mouth, but it's pretty telling what he did say. And he believes and saw with his own eyes that Wisconsin is the more physical team.
It's not a new thing for Jackson, though; when he was joining Wisconsin from the transfer portal, his mom spoke to Evan Flood about why he chose the Badgers: "He was like, ‘Mom, this is how I play.
How does he play? Physical, ferocious; he isn't scared of the contact, and he, like Wisconsin, is going to "bring it to their opponent." That's been the theme, and it's what helped the Badgers come out on top on Saturday over USC.
Simply look at this run below and see how he finishes this to get the touchdown for the Badgers against his former team. He took that safety to task, landed a shoulder in the opponent's chest, and finished him in the end zone. That's what being a Badger looks like, and he seems thrilled to do it in Madison.

The Badgers are hoping they have something going with Jackson the rest of the way. He's clearly the change of pace back behind Abu Sama III and maybe even Darrion Dupree. He's averaged right around seven carries per game this season, but he's been making the most of them. His yards-per-carry average is 4.0, but in this game against USC, he had a little extra burst and finished at 5.4 with 38 yards rushing, a long of 14, and a touchdown.
