While there's tons of attention on the Early Signing Period being a little over a week away, don't forget that the transfer portal is going to be quite busy in December too. College players with experience will be looking for a new place to call home.

Back in 2022, the Wisconsin Badgers signed quarterback Myles Burkett and he was hoping to make an impact for his home team (he's a Wisconsin native). However, Burkett entered the portal last December, ultimately signing with the Albany Great Danes.

Burkett took over as the starting quarterback for Albany this season, but it looks like he's going to be one-and-done with the program. Over the weekend, Burkett took to social media to announce that he'll indeed be transferring for the second time:

Burkett started nine games for Albany in 2024, posting 1,845 passing yards and 10 touchdowns before he went down with an ankle injury. When he put the pen to paper with the Badgers in 2022, he did so as a three-star prospect and the No. 36 QB in the land per 247Sports.

However, he was buried on the depth chart and it was clear he wasn't going to be QB1, so he decided to leave Madison. Once the portal opens up, he'll be looking for his third college program to join following his standout high school days.

As for Luke Fickell and Wisconsin, the rough 2024 campaign got worse thanks to the lopsided loss to Nebraska. Quarterback Braedyn Locke looked solid at times, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns, but he did toss another interception.

The good news at QB, however, is that 4-star prospect Carter Smith announced his commitment to the Badgers on Sunday. That verbal was massive news for Fickell, which came at a needed time for this team after the brutal showing vs. the Cornhuskers.
