The Wisconsin Badgers are on to the Big Ten title game on Sunday and life is good. On Saturday, the Badgers were in a see-saw battle with Michigan State, but thanks to some heroics from standout senior John Tonje, Greg Gard and Co. moved on.
We don't want to be 'that guy' here, but had Wisconsin lost, countless people would have bashed the refs for costing UW in that game against the Spartans. The officiating in recent days has been quite questionable, which has been disappointing to see. Just ask Wisconsin legend Frank Kaminsky about that, as he didn't hesitate in calling out the team in stripes in the middle of the semifinals action:
I never remember the Big Ten refs being this bad… what happened??

Wisconsin legend Frank Kaminsky rightfully called out the Big Ten refs
What happened? That's what we'd like to know too, Frank. Fans were losing their minds throughout the game, as Michigan State was definitely on the right side of some awful calls against the Badgers. We understand it's a tough job, but come on.
We will give the officials some credit for how they handled things at the end, however. With the game on the line, Tonje had a free throw rim out and Michigan State flew down the court looking to tie things up with a last-second 3-pointer.
Tonje was able to get his hands on the ball, though, and everyone inside of the stadium wearing green was hoping a foul would be called. The refs got things right, as Tonje got all ball. Michigan State supporters can complain all they want, but it was an unreal play from Tonje.
Luckily, a foul indeed wasn't called and now the Badgers are set to fight for the Big Ten title against the Michigan Wolverines. Come Sunday, we can only hope the zebras are a little bit more consistent - they can't be a major topic of conversation following the final whistle in the Wisconsin-Michigan meeting. That simply can't be the case.
