The only negative surrounding John Tonje right now is that we're going to have to say goodbye to him soon. A transfer from Missouri, Tonje has been an absolute blessing for Wisconsin basketball this season, as he was once again brilliant in the Big Ten semifinals showdown against Michigan State.

With a trip to the Big Ten title game on the line, Tonje took over on offense, leading the way with a game-high 32 points. Whenever the Badgers needed Tonje to deliver with a bucket, he was there to make a big play. Not only that, but his game-saving strip in the final seconds was unreal too.

Right after the final whistle, Tonje caught up with Tracy Wolfson. Instead of gloating over his performance or focusing on his unreal defensive play, he said that this win isn't about him. It's about the team instead. Seriously, how could anyone not love this kid?

John Tonje was once again the hero for Wisconsin in its thrilling win over Michigan State

"Man, it's a blessing," Tonje said. "Obviously gotta make those free throws at the end, but I had to recover quickly for my team. It's not about me, it's about the team, so I just had to make the next play and I'm so glad we got that stop."

With six seconds left on the clock, Tonje indeed went to the charity stripe looking to put the game on ice for the Badgers. Shockingly, his FT attempt rimmed out and Michigan State had the door flung wide open to try and force overtime with a 3-pointer.

Instead, Tonje came up with one of the best defensive moments of the season for the Badgers, doing so in an unreal spot. Now, Wisconsin is all set to play for the Big Ten title on Sunday. Let's be real here, did we expect this to be the case at the start of the campaign? Nope. Gard has fans believing a championship performance will be on the way this weekend and Tonje is no question the major reason why.
