The Wisconsin Badgers have had an excellent offseason with three top-end transfer portal additions. Greg Gard has added stretch-4 Austin Rapp from Portland University, combo guard Nick Boyd from San Diego State, and rangy wing Andrew Rohde from Virginia. All three are poised to be starters in next year's rotation. However, Gard isn't done yet, as he needs a few more pieces, whether to play in high-minute roles or simply come in off the bench.
Greg Gard has checked in on Jacari Lane of Northern Alabama, who averaged over 17 points a game last season. Lane recently entered the portal after spending his first three seasons as part of the Lions.

Wisconsin has reached out to Jacari Lane of Northern Alabama
Jacari Lane has always been a strong scorer for the Northern Alabama Lions. However, each season he has played, his point average has gone up from 12.7 to 14.7 to 17.3. He's exceptional at scoring from behind the arc and in the paint. He also stuffs the box score in other ways, averaging 3.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists a game.
Lane has 14 schools that have reached out, and so it will be something to monitor when it comes to how he goes about taking visits and which schools he wants to actually allow into his recruitment. There are a bunch of strong programs in the mix, and Wisconsin will have its hands full getting to be a finalist. However, there has been success in what Lane is good at, and he could easily be a solid addition to the rotation.
Lane has strong Kamari McGee vibes and could potentially serve in a similar role as the sixth man and one of the veteran guys that Greg Gard can trust with the ball in his hands. Lane will be entering his fourth year of eligibility.
