The top player in the state of Wisconsin for the 2027 recruiting class, Donovan Davis, has decided to take four unofficial visits. The Badgers get the coveted final visit; however, these visits may simply be the start of a longer recruitment for Davis.
The Badgers will be unofficially hosting Davis on September 20th after he takes visits to Iowa, Nebraska, and Iowa State earlier in the month. He's one of Greg Gard's top targets in the 2027 class and a player Wisconsin has been after for a while.

Donovan Davis will visit Wisconsin on September 20th after three other visits
Davis recently overtook the top spot in the in-state rankings after he had a surge this summer, impressing scouts and coaches from all over the country. He passed Dooney Johnson, but not by much, as they are neck in neck according to 24/7 Sports recruiting rankings. Both are Wisconsin targets and listed as 4-star players right now. However, Davis is up to a 98 composite ranking, which is a 5-star caliber grade.
Davis is 6'7" and over 200 pounds with offers from Marquette, Syracuse, Iowa State, Iowa, Nebraska, and even Kentucky. That latter one is a dangerous competition, as Kentucky has the deepest pockets in college basketball. Their commitment to securing the top talent across the country is as strong as any team.
Davis, however, is not unofficially visiting the Wildcats just yet. He's staying with the programs that have been after him the longest. The four schools he plans to visit were among his first offers and his strongest pursuers.
Davis is going into his junior season at Freedom High School in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. During his sophomore season, Davis was the leading scorer at 22.7 points per game. He also averaged 12 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.8 steals. He's an absolute game-changing player and someone that the Badgers would be thrilled to bring into the fold in 2027.
