As the official visit season approaches, Wisconsin, a new target has emerged for Jeff Grimes: Tight end Talan Scott. The Badgers were late to offer Scott, and only recently have popped up on the radar for the 3-star tight end. It may be a little too late, as Scott is preparing to take his visits, and he has yet to book a trip to Madison. However, there is one family connection that may help change that.

Jeff Grimes was a coach of Scott's dad. Grimes was the offensive line coach for Arizona State from 2001 to 2003, and Travis Scott (the dad of Talan) was on the offensive line. That connection has led Grimes to want to coach the next generation of Scotts, but this time, Grimes is an offensive coordinator, and Talan is playing tight end.

Scott still has room to add Wisconsin on a visit, and Grimes is working hard to get him to come. As of now, Scott only has three visits set up, according to 24/7 Sports. He will visit SMU on June 5, Kansas on June 12, and Auburn on June 19. He's a 6'4, 230-pound tight end who fits what Wisconsin wants to do at the position. He brings both a pass-catching game and a ferocious desire to block.

He comes from a high-blocking pedigree. Travis was a standout at Arizona State and ended up being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams. While his NFL career wasn't as long as he was hoping, it shows the caliber he was as a college player.

Wisconsin does already have one tight end in the class, but the hope is to bring in a few. Right now, Korz Loken, an in-state star, is the lone tight end in 2027.

Grimes may be a little too late to the game, but hopefully, not. Watch for a visit to be set up in the next few weeks, if it will happen at all.
