Former Wisconsin Badger JJ Watt has had an exceptional NFL career and has spent time around the league since. He's jumped on broadcasts and has been a studio analyst for "The NFL Today " since 2022. He is now pivoting to being an in-game analyst for the NFL on CBS. He will get to call games alongside Ian Eagle starting this NFL season.

JJ Watt joins 'NFL On CBS' to be game analyst alongside Ian Eagle
This is a big deal for Watt, who has pivoted into the commentator space and has worked to create even more of a brand on social media. He's quick to use his voice both for good and for helping change, advocating for. He even recently went on a bit of an X thread talking about the problems with the NCAA, saying that they are "cannibalizing" themselves.
Watt has a pretty good sense of humor on X, too, and will often make followers laugh along with his journey. After CBS announced his new gig with Ian Eagle, Watt shared some screenshots of the conversation he had with Eagle about it with the caption: "New partnership is off to a hot start..."

The exchange starts with a "looks like the news is out..." message from Watt to Eagle, to which Eagle replies, "can't wait." Watt then introduces his sense of humor and sends a picture of an ice bath and a sauna, saying, " Preparation starts today." Eagle is confused and replies, "Why would you need that for commentating?" To which Watt replies, "If you fail to prepare, you're preparing to fail..."
Eagle still hasn't gotten all the way into the joke, but he seems to be getting close. He says, "It's commentating. We sit in a booth and talk." Watt replies, "How do you normally prepare?" It's at this point that Eagle seems to have fully gotten into the joke and replies with a picture of a cart of bananas and Saratoga spring water bottles, which is a reference to an influencer who went viral with his morning routine of soaking his face in Saratoga water and rubbing banana peels on his face.
The jokes are out, but it really will be a treat to hear former Badger JJ Watt in the booth on NFL games.
