There's been a lot going on in Wisconsin athletics the last couple of days, and so there's a chance that you missed the new corporate sponsorship patch for the Badgers. Wisconsin football, men's hockey, and men's basketball will all be wearing Culver's patches on their uniforms. It's a new reality in college sports as more and more programs seek maximum revenue for athletics in the new NIL era.
Even if you missed it, Kam Jones did not. He immediately posted on social media, "Never in my life having anything from Culver’s again." As a former Marquette alum, he openly stands against anything Wisconsin Badgers. However, the story didn't end there. Hours, and truly, it was only hours later that Jones was cut from the Chicago Bulls in a stunning roster decision. Wisconsin fans couldn't help but roast him for perceived karma.
Wisconsin fans were quick to point out the fact that as soon as he slammed Culver's, the Bulls cut him from the team. As soon as the social media post from the Chicago Bulls came with a message that read: "Roster Update: We have waived guard Kam Jones." The timeline was flooded with Culver's jokes. Below are a few examples:

Kind of harsh for boycotting @culvers, but I get it. https://t.co/QI0q881JlY

Kam Jones' time with the Bulls may be remembered best by his shot at Culver's

Jones has had a very rocky NBA career after being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 38th overall pick. He was immediately traded to the Indiana Pacers. His time in Indiana wasn't anything to write home about. He played in 37 games for about 16.6 minutes per game and ended up only averaging 4.4 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game. Not great, not terrible.
This offseason, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls so the Pacers could swap draft picks with Chicago. He didn't even make it two weeks with the Bulls before he was determined not to be part of their future. Chicago cut him in a move to clear up more roster space and financial flexibility.
Though the timing was rich with irony as Wisconsin fans were initially clowning on him for hating on Culver's, but as soon as he was cut, they quickly shifted to karma. Joking that he was cut because of his opinion on the Wisconsin-based food chain.
Jones is now free to sign with anyone, and due to his stance on Culver's, he may want to start shopping for a contract outside of the Midwest. Yet, it may not be as easy as that. According to Culver's website, they have a restaurant in 26 states, and basically coast to coast. Though some early favorites for non-Culver's based NBA teams: Portland Trailblazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, just to name a few.
For now, it's hilarious for Wisconsin fans as they can relish in the former Marquette player, trying to hate on the Wisconsin Badgers, only to have a terrible day himself thanks to the Chicago Bulls.
