The NFL Draft did not go particularly well for the Wisconsin Badgers. It was a reminder of where the program is now and the benchmark of what it means to get back. There was a parade of Wisconsin Badgers who became NFL greats on the microphone announcing picks, but none of those picks were for this generation of Badgers.
Wisconsin fans didn't hear a Badger name called until the seventh round with offensive lineman Jack Nelson, and then one more came off the board in the same round, safety Hunter Wohler. That's it. And the sad reality is that there was really only one other player who had a chance to be in the NFL Draft: offensive lineman Joe Huber.

3 Wisconsin Badgers have signed UDFA contracts: Joe Huber, RJ Delancy III, and Bryson Green
It was the first time in 30 years that Wisconsin had not had a draft pick until the seventh round. However, at the end of the day, five former Badgers found NFL rosters: the two draft picks and three undrafted free agents (UDFA).
OL Joe Huber - Minnesota Vikings
CB RJ Delancy - New York Giants
WR Bryson Green - Arizona Cardinals
For all five of those players, it's an exciting moment as their dreams become a reality and they make their way onto rosters. Now, the goal for all of them is to prove enough to stay on the NFL roster. None of them are guaranteed spots, considering they are all seventh-round or UDFA players. They will need to work hard in training camp to retain their spots and keep their NFL dreams alive.
This year's draft is a reminder of the next steps for Luke Fickell and his staff. Get back to winning, but some of that comes through talent recognition, acquisition, and then development. That's the task ahead for Wisconsin.
