The Wisconsin Badgers are now linked to another transfer portal player as Luke Fickell keeps the stove hot. This time, it's Zion Kearney, a wide receiver transferring from the Oklahoma Sooners. Kearney is a former top recruit, rated a 4-star prospect out of high school, but has been buried on the depth chart in Oklahoma. He went from eight catches as a freshman to two catches last season, and that caused him to jump in the portal.
Not only is Wisconsin working to set up a visit with Kearney, according to Chris Hummer from 24/7 Sports, but one of the newest Badgers is helping recruit him to Wisconsin. Nate Palmer, the TCU transfer, who has only been a Badger for a couple of weeks, is telling Kearney to "Come on home!" with the hashtag of "OnWisconsin."

It's not known how well Palmer knows Kearney, besides the fact that they were both top recruits out of the state of Texas. Even if they don't know each other very well, Palmer has embraced his decision and signed with Wisconsin in a way that he's now pulling others with him.
Thanks to the transfer portal, Luke Fickell has more depth at the wide receiver position than at the beginning, and so Kearney is not a "must add." Yet, he has a high ceiling and could come in and compete for one of the starting receiver spots. This could be a potential, low-risk, high-reward addition to the Badgers.
With Palmer's help, maybe Luke Fickell gets it done. But there are other programs chasing down Kearny. Toledo, Washington (who is a bit more desperate at receiver), and North Texas are also looking to try to recruit Kearney. Depending on whether Kearney wants more NIL or more playing time, that may be the biggest factor in what he ultimately chooses.
