Wisconsin has already picked up their second commitment of the day, this time from tight end Jacob Harris a transfer from Bowling Green University. He is a veteran player but still has two seasons left to play. He has been on the Bowling Green roster for the last three seasons, spending his true freshman year as a redshirt player.
He joins Carson Van Dinter as the second commitment on the day. Van Dinter is a safety from Iowa State who grew up not too far from the university. You can read about his commitment here.

Jacob Harris is a big target for whoever ends up being Wisconsin's quarterback next season. He's 6'4 and 255 pounds. While he hasn't put up overly impressive numbers at Bowling Green, the potential is there. Last season, he had 19 receptions for 182 yards and five touchdowns.
He is also willing to block and play even out wide if needed. He was a wide receiver in high school. This seems to be a really good fit for the Badgers and the scheme that offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes wants to run at Wisconsin.
Neither Harris nor Van Dinter is quite the huge pickup the Badgers will need to compete next season in the Big Ten, but they are low-risk, high-reward pickups. Since Luke Fickell needs players up and down the roster, from the starters to potential starters to depth pieces, Harris and Van Dinter could end up being quality pickups.
The weekend is just getting started, and there is smoke that more are coming before the weekend ends, but it's a great start for Luke Fickell, who needs nearly 30+ players out of the portal.
