Luke Fickell is close to landing former UCLA commit with Madison visit looming

The Wisconsin Badgers have added a few scholarship offers lately to the 2027 class. The Badgers continue to keep options open and are finding great recruits all over the country. One of those new offers is Royalton Allen. Allen is an athlete in California who was a one-time commit to UCLA and is reevaluating all options. Wisconsin has a really strong chance of getting him to be a Badger.

Allen told On3's Evan Flood that he's excited about the Wisconsin offer and looks forward to visiting Madison. He's a player with 18 offers, but has five that stick out to him. Who's the favorite seems to be up for debate between On3 and 24/7 Sports.

On3 thinks that Wisconsin has the best shot and gives the Badgers a 43% chance of landing him; the next closest is sitting at 14% (UCLA). 24/7 Sports sees things a bit differently and likes North Carolina the most, but recognizes his visits to Wisconsin and BYU.

Allen plays all over the field at the high school level but projects best as a safety in college. However, schools may also consider him at wide receiver or even defensive back. Since Robert Steeples is the main recruiter for Wisconsin and Allen, it may be a sign that the Badgers see him as a cornerback.

Allen is coming on a great weekend; it's going to be a big weekend for the Badgers, with most of the official visits coming from already committed recruits. It's going to be a party of trying to get the non-committed players to commit and join the squad. This is the priority weekend for Luke Fickell as he has a few players that he's hoping to land in that first official visit weekend.
