The Wisconsin Badgers can't stop, won't stop in the transfer portal. They've already added another player, and the list has grown now to 15 players coming out of the portal. This time, it's in a very important position and fits the exact bill Luke Fickell is looking for in a defensive lineman. Junior Poyser from Buffalo is not only built like what Fickell is looking for, but he was also one of the top defensive line players in the MAC.
Poyser is 6'1 and 310 pounds. Fickell has talked about how important it is to have defensive tackles over 300 pounds and strong. He fits exactly what Wisconsin is looking for and what they found success with last season in run-prevention. Which Poyser has proven he's amazing at.

Poyser was one of the best defensive linemen as a redshirt sophomore, not just on his team but in his entire conference. According to PFF, he graded as a 77.6, which is good for fourth in the conference. He played in all 12 games and had 31 tackles, 5.5Â sacks, and a forced fumble this last season.
It was an important addition for the Badgers, for even after all 14 other additions via the portal, the interior defensive line was still a huge need for Wisconsin. Not just any defensive linemen, big ones, run-stuffers, players that can keep up with the Big Ten lines.
Poyser fits the bill exactly, but don't be surprised to see Luke Fickell add another. Poyser joins Justus Boone out of the transfer portal along the defensive line. However, Poyser will mostly play as the defensive tackle, while Boone can slide in and out of the line based on need. It's a huge pickup for the Badgers.
