Luke Fickell continues to add to his top-20 recruiting class by nabbing one of the top recruits in the state of Delaware. This is a big sign for this class, as until Jack Sorgi committed last week, the entire class was from in-state. Now, Fickell has grabbed back-to-back fast-rising recruits from out of state. This time it's DJ Davis, a projected safety in college, but also has ball skills for wide receiver.

24/7 Sports lists him as an athlete and a top-50 nationwide recruit. Davis is a player who has been picking up a ton of momentum in the last few months as schools are rushing to get him on campus. He set up four official visits with Syracuse, Penn State, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. It's not known if he will keep the rest of his visits or not now that he's committed to Wisconsin.

The Badgers have full intentions to play him as a safety, but they have to love the ball-hawking skills that he's developed as a wide receiver. The two primary recruiters for Davis from Wisconsin were the secondary coaches Jack Cooper and Paul Haynes. That tells you how the Badgers view Davis, and it clearly worked as Davis is now part of an impressive recruiting class.

Fickell has been toying around with a top-10 recruiting class for 2027 for a while now, and this only pushed things closer. 24/7 Sports has the class ranked as No. 11 of all colleges, and that money that's poured into the program is really going to work for Fickell's recruiting.

Davis joins a talented group of in-state Wisconsin players, but also Jack Sorgi, a legacy recruit for Wisconsin whose dad, Jim Sorgi, played quarterback in Madison in the early 2000s.
