This weekend, it seems as if Luke Fickell and Lane Kiffin are in a private war with their recruits. One of Wisconsin's commits is currently on a visit to Ole Miss, while another may be looking to flip to the Badgers. You can read about Wisconsin commit Carmelow Reed on a visit to Ole Miss here.
The update that may be good for Wisconsin is that 2026 athlete Zion Legree, who's a 3-star on most recruiting sites, has decided to decommit from the Rebels. According to Evan Flood of 24/7 Sports, the wide receiver coach for Wisconsin, Jordan Reid, has been working on bringing Legree to Wisconsin for a while.
3-star Zion Legree is heavily considering Wisconsin after decommitting from Ole Miss
Zion Legree is a 3-star athlete (who presumably plays wide receiver at the college level) from Niceville, Florida. Legree has 21 offers from schools like Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Wisconsin. However, it is starting to appear that Wisconsin may be the team to beat.
He has set up a visit for June 13 to come to Madison and presumably make his choice. Wisconsin is coming after him hard, and a significant part of that chase is how fast he is. He's got blazing speed at the high school level. He's been clocked 4.3 40-yard dash time, which is NFL wide receiver speed. There's a solid chance that he will jump to a 4-star in the fall.
This is a great sign for Luke Fickell, who is working on one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the offseason. There are over a dozen recruits on campus, and Legree isn't one of them, but as of now, he's providing the biggest Wisconsin recruiting news. That could change with a few commitments after this important recruiting weekend.
