Melvin Gordon is rolling with the Badgers and says it's time to 'Go make a name for yourselves.'
Melvin Gordon is one of the most legendary running backs for the Badgers, not only for what he accomplished at Wisconsin, but also in the NFL. He has not shied away from his love for the Badgers and represents them every chance he gets. At the NFL draft, he was wearing Wisconsin gear and flashing the "W" throughout the entire event.
His quote with ESPN Madison is above, but the best part of it is below, including a headline of "Go make a name for yourselves. There's no better way to do it. I'm rolling with the Badgers."
"We go undefeated. I don't care. If we lose, we lose. But you know what? It is what it is. We ain't lost yet. Everybody's record is 0-0. I'm tired of people talking about my Badgers... I'm so tired of hearing about the schedule. Who cares about the schedule? ... Have an upset every week if they feel like you the underdog. Who cares? Go make a name for yourselves. There's no better way to do it. I'm rolling with the Badgers. I'm down in their corner. If we lose, we lose together. "Melvin Gordon
Gordon rushed 343 times for 2,587 yards and 29 touchdowns while at Wisconsin. In 2014, he was a Doak Walker award winner and a Heisman runner-up. He was a part of a running back stable at one point that included James White and Montee Ball. A trio of Wisconsin legends all at the school at the same time, and they all went on to successful NFL careers.
Wisconsin could have a wild season with all the trouble on the schedule. However, Gordon isn't phased and he's rolling with the Badgers. The first game is less than a month away, and the countdown is officially on. Speaking of "on," On Wisconsin!
