Mimi Colyer is even better than advertised for Wisconsin volleyball. She put together an absolutely amazing round of volleyball for the No. 8th-ranked Badgers over the No. 14th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Her stats were incredible with a double-double in kills and digs. She did it all in front of her former Oregon coach, who is now the coach at Kansas.

Colyer had 26 kills. You read that right, she had 26 kills in five sets and had 10 digs to go along with it. Her overall efficiency was a whopping .339. Oh, did I fail to mention she also had five blocks to add to that already insane stat line? Welcome to Madison, Mimi. This is a volleyball town.

It was a good all-around debut for the Badgers as Colyer led the way. The Badgers were taking on a Kansas team that had already played twice this season. The Jayhawks already had the chance to shake off the first-game jitters, clear the cobwebs from the second game, and they were battle-tested from a loss to Penn State and a win over Vanderbilt.

For the Badgers, this was their first game of the season, and there were moments where it seemed pretty obvious that was the case. However, the team worked through a bumpy second set to battle throughout the fourth, only to find the win in the fifth. They will now be more primed and ready to go for Texas on Sunday.

The next game is Sunday, August 31, at 1 pm in the UW Field House as part of the Opening Spike Classic. Wisconsin beat Kansas 3-2, and Texas beat Creighton 3-0. The Longhorns will be a tough match as they come in ranked No. 5.
