Nick Boyd was voted All-Big Ten Second Team by both the coaches and the media, and that's absolutely mind-numbing. He was arguably the best point guard in the Big Ten and easily one of the best players in the conference. It's not just Wisconsin fans saying this; there are many jumping to Boyd's defense. Lately, two more have joined the chorus of disbelief.
It started with Raphael Davis, a former Purdue player and current college basketball analyst. He posted on social media with a "Nick Boyd should have EASILY been 1st team." Davis then proceeds to list Boyd's stats in the games against Michigan, Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa, and Purdue. He then follows it up with, "I have no idea what 1st Team means anymore. Nick Boyd was snubbed on the highest level. What are we doing?"
That was followed up by Ben Stevens, who's sometimes known as "Big Ten Ben" and does a lot of NBA coverage, and is another basketball analyst. He followed up Davis' post with more stats showcasing how rare Boyd is. He said that Boyd is the only player who has the stat line 20+ points, 4+ assists, 50%+ FG in four AP Top 15 wins this season. No other player did that.
In Wisconsin’s four (4!) AP Top 15 wins this yr, Nick Boyd had in EACH:
— Ben Stevens (@BenScottStevens) March 10, 2026
• 20+ pts
• 4+ ast
• 50%+ FG
20 D-I men’s players did THIS (^) in a Top 15 win team this yr.
Just 2 D-I men’s players did so in multiple Top 15 wins.
Only 1 player did so in 3+ Top 15 wins:

Nick Boyd will continue to let the results do the talking as he heads into tournament season
Boyd hasn't spoken about the snub, but did reply to a social media comment about it, basically saying it was time to "go" with an emoji showing a receipt. It's pretty easy to figure out what he means by that. He's ready to continue to prove the doubters wrong and let the wins on the court showcase who's the best point guard in the Big Ten.
Boyd takes action again on Thursday against the winner of Washington vs. USC. While many fans may want Wisconsin to bow out of the Big Ten Tournament early to rest up for the NCAA Tournament, this fire that was started may not allow that to happen. Boyd is a man on a mission now.
