Multiple Badgers top the PFF Week 3 list and Matt Jung even made the Team of the Week

The Wisconsin Badgers finally put together a game that fans can be proud of on Saturday. Sure, it was against a MAC team, but the previous week against an FCS team wasn't impressive, so it was a big step forward. The dominant 54-10 win was showcased clearly on the box score sheet with a 73.1 QBR rating for Colton Joseph, and Tyrell Henry setting a program receptions record with 14.

Could even look at the three forced turnovers from Mason Posa, Cooper Catalano, and Matt Jung. There's a lot to like about the box score and maybe even more about how PFF grades the Badgers. Many top the list of Week 3 performers, with Tyrell Henry having one of the best grades of all college players at 92.9.

There was also Matt Jung scoring a 90.5, and Emerson Mandell and Jacob Harris both scoring an 81. Every single one of those is impressive, and if you watched the game, you can visualize the plays that got them to this point. There are a couple of players that seem to be missing, like Bryce West, who had a great game, or even Gavin Lahm, who went 6/6 on extra points and 2/2 on field goals.

Even though Tyrell Henry had the highest PFF score of all the Badgers, it was Matt Jung who landed on the PFF Week 3 Team of the Week. Jung actually joins Penn State safety Marcus Neal Jr. on the PFF Week 3 defense. Those two will see each other this Saturday when Wisconsin takes on the Nittany Lions.

Jung had a great game and deserves the honor with three tackles, one pass defense, and one interception. He seemed to be in great coverage all day, and while his stats don't stack the box, the beauty of PFF is that the grade isn't focused on recordable stats but instead on how the player actually performed at the position. A safety in the right spots, doing the right things, won't exactly stuff the box score.

Matt Jung was great, and Luke Fickell even shouted him out in his press conference as an example of being more aggressive to get a turnover. He said that Jung's interception came from the safety creating his own coverage, but that he was happy the coaching staff gave him the ability to do so.

If you haven't seen the interception that Jung pulled down, he simply high-pointed the ball over the receiver and took it away. It was one of those plays that really showed his ball skills. Watch below:

Jung was pumped about the performance and, after the game, told reporters, "This is what Wisconsin Football should look like...this is what the fans deserve." And hopefully that train keeps running into Penn State.

While the negative Nancy's of the world will tell you to downplay this win, it still felt like a win that the Badgers needed. Now the goal will be to see if Wisconsin can also take down Penn State.
