Myles Garrett issues warning to Wisconsin legend T.J. Watt over NFL's DPOY
On Thursday night, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers treated fans everywhere to one heck of a ball game. In the end, Cleveland pulled off a thrilling win, sending Wisconsin Badgers legend T.J. Watt and the Steelers home with a loss.
One of the players of the game for Cleveland was no question Myles Garrett, who finished with three sacks on the night. As you might have been able to guess, Garrett was riding high after the final whistle. However, he also decided to go after Watt?
That was the case, as Garrett didn't hold back in sending a special message to his pass-rushing colleague. If you ask Garrett, he's the best EDGE in the league and the front-runner for Defensive Player of the Year, and not Watt:
Myles Garrett called out T.J. Watt after Cleveland's TNF win over Pittsburgh
Garrett really didn't hold back there. Things went a bit differently for the two stars on Thursday night. Garrett had one of his best games of the season, making life difficult for Russell Wilson from start to finish in the primetime showdown.
Watt didn't post any sacks, as the Cleveland offensive line consistently had him going up against double teams. It was a frustrating game for him, as he wasn't able to wreak havoc like he normally does. However, Watt is still arguably the best defensive player in the game.
We're not going to take anything away from Garrett, as he's right up there too. On the season, Garrett has recorded 24 solo tackles, 10 sacks (second in the NFL) and three forced fumbles. Watt has 28 solo tackles, 7.5 sacks and four forced fumbles to his name.
Things are pretty tight there. However, you can make the argument that Garrett just made a massive mistake in giving Watt bulletin-board material like this. He was ticked off after the loss and now he has Garrett trolling him? Watt surely won't respond on social media/he'll take the high road if asked about this. However, look for him to let his play do the talking the rest of the season to silence Garrett and others.
