We are starting to see plenty of players in the transfer portal show high interest in the Wisconsin Badgers football program, which is obviously great news for Luke Fickell and his coaches. Not only that, but guys aren't wasting time in setting up visits.
That's also a good thing, especially with the latest news that just arrived. According to reporter Pete Thamel, Ball State tight end Tanner Koziol has a Wisconsin offer in hand and he'll be taking an official visit to Madison starting on Friday. He'll also be at Houston this week.
Ball State tight end Tanner Koziol has locked in his Wisconsin official visit
This is a visit that Wisconsin fans should be fired up about. Koziol is coming off a stellar season for Ball State. In 2024, the 6-7, 240-pounder posted 94 receptions for 839 yards and eight touchdowns. For his career, he has 18 touchdowns to his name.
The tight end play for the Badgers was far too inconsistent this past campaign. Tucker Ashcraft finished with only 12 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown, while his mental mistakes for penalties drew UW supporters up a wall this fall.
Koziol would be able to step in and make an immediate impact for the TEs room. He's ranked four stars by 247Sports and the No. 3 tight end in the country currently in the transfer portal. First up he'll have his visit with Houston, but then Fickell and Co. will look to impress him shortly after.
4-star transfer CB Raion Strader will also visit Wisconsin
In other big official visit news, Miami (Ohio) cornerback Raion Strader is a fan of the Badgers and he'll also be in town later this week. According to 247Sports' Brian Dohn, the standout defensive back will arrive in Madison on Saturday.
Just like Koziol, Strader is ranked four stars by 247Sports. He's also the No. 4 CB in the land in the portal. These are two big names for people to keep an eye on. Should things go well on their visits, there's the potential that both Koziol and Strader could commit to Fickell before they leave town.
