Will Garlock may end up being a diamond in the rough for the Wisconsin Badgers, especially when you consider how Greg Gard develops big men who come to Wisconsin. Since he has arrived on campus, he's been turning a lot of heads, and now the latest report from Nolan Winter has fans even more excited for his potential.
Nolan Winter joined "The Swing" podcast and talked about the true freshman that he calls "all of 7'1". That Garlock is taller than even Winter is, and it's impressive. He's an imposing player and can really shake the rim when he dunks. Speaking of dunks, Winter was asked about a rumor that Garlock had put another teammate on a poster. While Winter wouldn't identify the player who got posterized, he did confirm, "It was one of the better posters I've seen in a practice in a while."

Nolan Winter said that he knows his role is to take Garlock under his wing like Steven Crowl did for him when he first arrived. That he's going to help him get up to speed and be a legitimate factor for the Badgers.
It will be interesting to see if Garlock gets many minutes this season, as there seems to be a little bit of a logjam ahead of him on the depth chart. Much of the potential is for next year; however, if the reports continue to indicate that he's a factor, a monster, a force down low, it will be hard for Greg Gard to keep him off the floor.
This is only good news for the Badgers, as adding quality big men is more difficult than it seems for programs, but it seems like there's another one waiting in the wings behind Winter in true freshman Will Garlock.
