Nyzier Fourqurean learned today that the NCAA has won its appeal in his eligibility case. He was in a legal battle with the NCAA over the ability to play one more year. Working on a similar court case to Diego Pavia last season. Pavia was able to get JUCO years not to count against eligibility in the NCAA. Fourqurean was claiming the same should hold true for DII seasons. He won the initial case, but when it was appealed to the United States Court of Appeals, he lost.
He posted on social media after the decision was interesting, to say the least. It had very little commentary, with only a picture of him in full uniform, holding his helmet in his hands, and the word "lol." It's hard to tell if this is a "welp" reaction or a "the fight isn't over yet" reaction.

Nyzier Fourqurean posted on social media with a simple "lol" after the NCAA won its appeals case against him
The fight may not be quite over for Fourqurean, as Colten Bartholomew of Badger Extra talked about how there's still a slight chance he could play this season. He reiterated online that it's a very, very small chance. Since that article is behind a paywall, you'll need to read it to see what that option is.
The reaction could be because he still plans to fight for another year. However, it may be that there was a part of him that thought this was a real possibility. Even though Luke Fickell was convinced it wouldn't happen. Fourqurean said back in April that he knew there was a possibility and what he was doing about that possibility.
"I know that there's a possibility but I'm not focused on that. When the time comes and if unfortunately we don't get the decision that we want then at that point I'll transition into whatever I want to do. I have a couple of options lined up for after my college career. Trying to get into a minicamp or whatever it may be. "Nyzier Forqurean
He went on to say in that same interview that, “I’m really trying to take the younger guys underneath my wings just in case, like, God forbid, I don’t get the extra year.”
Now that the reality has hit him, it seems as if the "lol." may be due to all that he said above. The good news is that he was helping the young guys prepare in case the decision did go against him.
