John Tonje is waiting to hear his name called in the 2025 NBA Draft. The second round starts tonight at 7 pm CST, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the clock, listening to trades but may stick with their pick. Could their selection be John Tonje? FanDuel has put odds on it. There are actually odds for Tonje to be either of the top two picks.

Oddsmakers high on John Tonje as potential early second-round steal
Most analyst projections have Tonje drafted somewhere around pick 40 with about a five-selection swing either way. He could go in those first two picks of the second round, but he could also be drafted around 50. It's hard to know, especially as teams are doing a lot more evaluating based on fit than "best available."
According to FanDuel, Tonje has a +9500 chance to be the 31st pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. Which is among the lowest available odds of the players they picked. There are only 19 players with projected odds for this pick, and while Tonje is one of them, he's tied for the lowest odds.
To be the 32nd pick, Tonje has odds of +6000, which once again is tied with Rocco Zikarsky for the lowest available odds. Also, once again, there are 19 players with odds, so it's not the whole round, but just the 19 players FanDuel sees as the best available as round two begins tonight.
This is excellent news for Tonje's overall chances of being drafted in the second round. While no one is really projecting him to be undrafted, there's always a bit of a risk. With these odds, Vegas and oddsmakers obviously see him as one of the top picks of the second round and as a high probability to be selected within the first 20 picks of the second round.
