Former Badger wide receiver Quintez Cehpus has signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills according to Adam Schefter.
Cephus, who received an indefinite suspension after gambling on NFL games, was recently reinstated by the NFL. His former team, the Detroit Lions, released him at the time of his suspension so upon reinstatement he was free to sign with any team. The Buffalo Bills were the team who came calling.
After trading Stefon Diggs and letting Gabe Davis walk in free agency, the Bills were in dire need of some receiver help. They brought in Keon Coleman from Florida State via the draft, and now have signed Cephus to round out the room.
Cephus, still only 26, has plenty of upside to become a contributor in the Bills offense. He will join his former Wisconsin teammate, offensive lineman David Edwards, who recently signed with the Bills as well.
