The Wisconsin Badgers have been busy recruiting this month. Last Thursday, they received a commitment from 6' 5'' guard Hayden Jones from New Zealand. Today, 2025 four-star small forward Amari Allen announced his six finalists for his college choice. The Badgers were named finalists along with Alabama, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Nevada, and Big Ten rival Minnesota.

While Allen attends Florida's IMG Academy, he has roots in Wisconsin. He grew up in Kaukauna, where he developed a love for basketball. As a freshman at Kaukauna High School, he received his first Division I offer from Georgetown University. After transferring to IMG Academy, Allen saw his scholarship list grow to over twenty schools.

Earlier this month, the Badgers offered Amari Allen a basketball scholarship, and the interest appears mutual. After announcing his six finalists, Allen tweeted out what dates he plans to visit, and he perhaps could not have picked a more significant weekend to visit Madison in 2024.

Wisconsin will host Allen from Friday, September 13th, through Sunday, September 15th. That weekend is significant for two reasons. The Badgers face Alabama in Camp Randall Stadium in what will be a season-defining game earlier in the year. Basketball recruits Davion Hannah and Tommy Ahneman will be in attendance for that game.

The Badgers currently hold the seventh-highest recruiting class of 2025 entering August. Wisconsin secured commitments from in-state players Will Garlock of Middleton and Zach Kinziger of De Pere.

After the 2025 season, the Badgers will lose starters Steven Crowl and Max Klesmit, transfer John Tonje, and backups Carter Gilmore, Kamari McGee, and Marcus Ilver. These losses will open up scholarship spots, which the Badgers will fill through recruiting wins and the transfer portal.

Given the roster turnover after 2025, Amari Allen will have plenty of opportunities to take the court for Wisconsin. Therefore, landing Allen would be a tremendous win for Greg Gard and the coaching staff.
