The Wisconsin women's basketball team has had an offseason of turmoil after a season of disappointment and allegations. The new head coach, Robin Pingeton, has a huge job in front of her, and it's not starting in a good place, as most fans are skeptical at best of her. However, that hasn't stopped Pingeton from getting things started in the portal with the intent of rebuilding a roster that has lost multiple players to the transfer portal.

The transfer portal already has a couple of names associated with Wisconsin and the new regime. Even if neither ends up coming to Madison, it's a good sign that Pingeton is already recruiting before her introductory press conference.

Wisconsin has been linked to both Yarden Garzon and Faith Carson

The two big names that Pingeton has reportedly reached out to are Yarden Garzon, who is transferring out of Indiana, and Faith Carson, who is leaving Ohio State. These are both pretty big names, and it would be a huge coup for Pingeton to grab one or both of these players.

Garzon is listed as one of the best players in the women's portal and arguably one of the top shooters. Last season, she averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for the Hoosiers.

Carson, on the other hand, is more unproven but is a tall player and has developed a lot in her second season in women's basketball. She stands 6'4" and would anchor a defense for the Bagers if Pingeton is able to get her. She only had 0.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in her 1.7 minutes per game. She red-shirted her freshman year and only played seven games in her sophomore season. She is looking for a bigger role and an expanded opportunity. If Pingeton can bring in one of these two, Carson feels like the one.
