The final piece of the Robin Pingeton-upgraded Wisconsin Badgers team comes by way of Caia Elisaldez. She's a star 5'5 point guard from the Chattanooga Mocs. She won the SoCon Player of the Year award after putting up an incredible season, averaging 17 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.

For the Badgers, this is a big final piece as Pingeton didn't have a really any starting point guard on the roster. While she loves having guards that can play a bit of both, it felt vital to have one player who naturally plays the point. But instead of just any ol' point guard, Pingeton brought in a Player of the Year-level point guard.

Caia Elisaldez finishes a roster that may be the best Wisconsin team in a long time

This team hasn't held a practice altogether, hasn't played even a single game, but on paper, it's hard not to be excited. Robin Pingeton truly wowed with the rebuild in her year 2. If things elevate again with the new roster, something went wrong. This roster looks great. Sure, the top end of the Big Ten may still be a tough assignment, but this team is good.

Elisaldez is one more example of that. As she was one of the best point guards available that was looking to jump from a mid-major to a high-major. Pingeton was able to land her. Not only is she good, but she's also a veteran who will bring a senior presence to the court.

She's played three years and all for the Mocs. Each year, she got progressively more confident and developed as a leader on the court. In her freshman year, she started only three games, but by her sophomore season, she started every game except one and averaged 14.1 points and 4.9 assists. She eclipsed that last season and now she's coming to see what she can do as a Badger.
